Rs 2500 crore tribal welfare funds unused by Maharashtra govt: Deputy speaker - The Times of India

Rs 2500 crore tribal welfare funds unused by Maharashtra govt: Deputy speaker - The Times of India: "MUMBAI: Senior Congress leader and deputy speaker VasantPurke's letter to chief minister PrithvirajChavan and deputy chief minister AjitPawar, squarely blaming the government for the exploitation of tribals at all levels across the state, has caused a flutter in political circles.

"Our government has failed to utilize the budgetary provision of Rs 2,500 crore for tribals. Great injustice has been done to them; their land has been illegally sold and non-tribals have been appointed to posts reserved for tribals,'' Purke said in his 11-page letter."
